Senior Java Engineer – Embedded & Hardware Systems

Right now, we are expending the team with Senior Java Engineers experience working with embedded/hardware systems. We are partnering with a global technology company specializing in smart access and management solutions for parking, mobility, mountain destinations, stadiums, and entertainment venues . The company combines connected software platforms, access-control hardware, digital ticketing, payment solutions, analytics, and system integrations to help operators deliver smooth, secure, and convenient visitor experiences while improving operational efficiency and revenue performance. In this role, you will: Design and implement entire backend of a system, consisting of core application logic, databases, data and application integration, API and other backend processes. Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. Implement security and data protection. Design and implement data storage solutions. Provide training, help and support to other team members. Troubleshoot and debug applications. Test software to ensure proper functionality, responsiveness and efficiency using different techniques, including but not limiting to: unit-testing, end-to-end testing, performance testing, load testing, etc. 4+ years of relevent experience Strong expertise Java (17+) - OOP, concurrency, modern features Maven build tooling Linux fundamentals, the app runs on embedded Linux; (services, networking, shell) Remote JVM debugging against real hardware Experience with legacy code & backward-compatibility constraints Hardware/embedded work over pure web/cloud development Good documentation, code quality, and collaboration practices (Git workflows, code reviews) Strong nice-to-haves: JavaFX (GUI framework for device displays) gRPC & Protocol Buffers (backend communication) Testing: JUnit 5, Mockito
